Hunnicutt Wine Cases for a Cause

As many of you may know by now, our friend Justin Stephens and his family, proprietors of Hunnicutt Wines, lost their house and the majority of their winemaking equipment in the recent Glass Fire in Napa Valley. Fortunately, Seana and their three young kids made it out safely. Now Justin faces the long and hard task of rebuilding. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as collecting insurance money and restarting. Many vineyards were severely damaged. This means they will need to be ripped out, re-planted and then a longwait seven years before the vines produce usable fruit. Between rebuilding their home, the winery and the vineyards, this is going to be a long road…

We are in a unique position to help Justin and his family, and we wanted to spread the word.

In 2019, we teamed up with Justin and private labeled some of his best “Fearless” red blend. We affectionately call this our “Warhorse Cuvee”. We’ve got a fair amount of this wine here in Atlanta and there’s no way to better help Justin, his family and the Hunnicutt team rebuild than by drinking this wine.

We will have 6 pack cases of the wine available for Unsukay guests to purchase. The wine is $50 per bottle and all proceeds from the sale of this wine will go directly to Justin and Seana to help them rebuild Hunnicutt.
This is a beautiful wine to enjoy in good company, or to give as a gift this holiday season. Let’s help our friends start to rebuild.

The 2018 Fearless Red is a wine that is quintessentially Californian for all the right reasons. The nose is bright and beautiful, led by instantly gratifying notes of blackberry and blueberry preserves and uplifted by a comforting core of caramel, vanilla and hints of rich earth. On the palate, the entry is abundant and fruit driven, continuing the promised berry theme well into the mid palate. The finish brings hints of Christmas spices and sweet oak as well as a savory richness typical to Syrah that has a pleasing mouthwatering effect. In true California style, this wine may have a bit of a swagger, but what can we say, it loves an audience. Drink now, this wine will age beautifully for 7+ years, but be sure to enjoy a bottle or two in its youth as the bright fruit notes are truly wonderful.
