Lucia Virtual Wine Tasting

An important part of the history of wine in America, Pisoni is one of the great names in American vineyards. Without their family vision and extraordinary vineyards, the terroir of American wine would be incomplete. There simply cannot be a serious discussion about Pinot Noir in America without the Pisoni name being front and center.

We’re thrilled to host Mark and Bibiana Pisoni from Lucia Vineyards for a virtual wine tasting and discussion on Thursday, January 28 at 6:30 p.m. The tasting will be lead by our own Chef Chris Hall.

We hope you’ll join us for what is sure to be a fun, informative and damn tasty experience.

Virtual Tasting Kit Includes
1 Bottle of 2018 Lucia SLH Soberanes Vineyard Chardonnay
1 Bottle of 2018 Lucia SLH Pinot Noir

Cheese & Charcuterie

In 1982 Gary Pisoni planted his first 5 acres of own-rooted vines in virgin soil at 1,300 foot elevation in Santa Lucia Highlands. It took ten years of witchers and well drillers to tap into a water source on the sixth try. Water turned the wilderness into a garden and made Gary’s dream come true. The original vines are rumored to be from suitcase cuttings from a famous domaine in Vosne-Romanee, now called the Pisoni clone or selection.

The first vintage of Lucia debuted in 2000 with the Lucia Pinot Noir from Garys’ Vineyard. It was the beginning of a new chapter for the Pisoni family, with Mark and Jeff Pisoni joining their father Gary to pursue a shared dream of building the family wine business and adding winemaking to grapegrowing.

Today, with Mark as grower and Jeff as winemaker, Lucia wines are considered among the finest in California. In the Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck writes, “The Pisoni Family’s Lucia label continues to be a source of incredible wines that always over-deliver.”
